Macaulay Culkin's friends and family are said to be seriously concerned for his health due to his 60-a-day cigarette habit.
The former child star, who last year denied he was addicted to drugs, appears to be hooked on nicotine.
'He's put his nicotine addiction into overdrive,' claims a source.
'Almost every time I see him, he has a cigarette dangling from his lips and is puffing furiously.'
Unkempt Macaulay's dangerous lifestyle is causing his loved ones to fear he could develop lung cancer.
'The effects of his unhealthy habit are starting to show,' another source tells the National Enquirer.
'He's coughing a lot, his teeth are yellowing, and friends and family are worried he's killing himself.'
Macaulay, famed for his role in hit movie Home Alone, dated Ashton Kutcher's girlfriend Mila Kunis for several years before they announced their split in 2011.
Mac, 32, has struggled to match the early success of his career and is apparently earning a living as a DJ.
A spokesperson for the star has declined to comment.
